Machine downtime tracking software, from the stop to the cause
ManufactINS is machine downtime tracking software for factories in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the GCC: an operator reports a stop and its reason from a phone in a few taps, maintenance works it from an inbox, and stops are ranked by the hours they cost. Mean time between failures and mean time to repair are measured from your maintenance work orders — never estimated.
How machine downtime tracking software works here
- Report a stop in a few tapsFrom Today’s Work on a phone: the machine, the reason and a note, in Arabic or English.
- Reasons in two levelsA category, then the cause — one fixed list, so the Pareto compares like with like across lines and shifts.
- The maintenance inboxEach stop is acknowledged, put in progress and resolved, with an optional work-order number — the floor sees that someone has it.
- Downtime by reasonFrom your machine downtime and output records: hours lost per reason, ranked, and the same hours feeding availability in OEE.
- MTBF and MTTR, measuredFrom your uploaded maintenance work orders: days between recorded failures, the average downtime per failure and the open work per asset. Where records are missing, no score is made up.
- Connected in the pilotStops come straight from machine and PLC data once it is connected in the pilot, through your gateway or historian, and maintenance work from your maintenance system. Your plant systems are connected during the pilot — MES (SAP DM, Siemens Opcenter, Tulip), historian and SCADA (OSIsoft PI, Ignition, OPC-UA), maintenance (SAP PM, IBM Maximo, Fiix), your ERP and spreadsheet exports.
Set up in your pilot
- Failure prediction trained on your own machines’ history is set up in the pilot; the demonstration plants show it on sample data.
In Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the GCC
Egypt
Operators report stops in Arabic; Egyptian plants run on Cairo time, and supervisors can give spoken commands in Egyptian Arabic on Live Operations.
Saudi Arabia
A Riyadh plant reads its stops on Riyadh time, with its Friday–Saturday weekend.
UAE and the GCC
A plant can be set to Dubai time; reporting and the maintenance inbox work in Arabic and English.
How to choose
- Speed of reportingIf reporting a stop takes more than a few seconds, short stops will never be recorded.
- Reason-code disciplineA fixed, two-level list beats free text: a Pareto of free text is a list of spellings.
- A loop with maintenanceA stop should land with maintenance and come back resolved, not sit in a report.
- Measured, not estimatedAsk how MTBF and MTTR are computed and what is shown when records are missing.
Frequently asked questions
What is machine downtime tracking software?
Software that records every time a machine stops, why and for how long, so a plant can fix the causes that cost the most production time.
How do operators report downtime?
From Today’s Work on their phone: pick the machine and the reason, add a note, send. It goes to the maintenance inbox at once.
Can it detect downtime automatically from the machine?
Yes, once machine and PLC data are connected in the pilot, through your gateway or historian (OPC-UA, Ignition, OSIsoft PI). Until then, stops are reported by operators or come from your records.
How are MTBF and MTTR calculated?
MTBF counts the calendar days between recorded failures; MTTR is the average downtime per failure — both from your uploaded maintenance work orders.
Does it predict machine failures?
The predictive maintenance screens run on your machines’ data once it is connected in the pilot, through your historian and your maintenance system (SAP PM, IBM Maximo or Fiix); on the demonstration plants they show sample data. Measured MTBF, MTTR and open work come from your own records.
How much does it cost, and is there a free version?
Access starts with a guided demo: the Epsilon team shows ManufactINS on demonstration plants, then agrees a pilot on one plant or one line, with its scope, measures and price set up front. Requesting a demo never creates an account.
The modules that do it
- MachinesEvery asset with status, telemetry, health score and the maintenance behind it.
- Work OrdersPreventive, predictive and corrective work, with parts, technician and MTBF / MTTR.
- OEEAvailability, performance and quality by machine, line, shift and product, with loss drill-down.
- Today’s WorkEach operator’s jobs, clock and progress for today — operators work their own; managers and supervisors see the whole team, what is not in order, and each person’s screen.
- Live OperationsReal-time operator productivity, order progress, completion rates, delays, bottlenecks and KPIs by location.
